umph has talent but way to intense to even groove too. keep changin it up.. they need to get people dancin, sick of these frat bois head bangin

sqrmincoil hit it right on the nose. we all know that phish is on top of the jam world right now, hands down. but that doesn't make them a better band than umphs. their two completely different styles of playing makes it impossible to compare. phish has got the improvisational chemistry and um has the nasty technical skill. well both bands have both of those but i think those things are what they excel at and what sets them apart from each other. all that matters to me is that i have a kick ass time at both of their shows for the same reason, they play great effing music and they're all stellar musicians. there's no need to say one band is better than the other, music ain't no competition.

ever since i started listening to these guys, i can't listen to anything else… nothing satisfies my ear holes more

since when the fuck do people concider UM on the same level as phish. this is clearly a whack statement. umphs kicks ass but you dont see them selling out gigantic theatre's like phish. and thats because they couldnt, they arent big enough. frankly i feel moe. is on a higher level them um. since they have had there own festival eleven years running now. im not down tlking umphs by anymeans, but i had no idea people ranked them so highly on the jam band scale. and hahaha i like the comment by houstonr when he said "you have 69 as part of your username so right away you lose all credibility" haha well screw you housron i do to!! lol but i aint ryin to be a fag i mean 69 as in "summer of 69" the best year ever.

at some point there is no greater or less greater band, bands are only different. phish and umphrees have reached that level. neither are better than the other, they are just different. personally i perfer phish but i love and respect both bands

come on! Moe. is every bit on the same level as phish and um! now wsp, great for their style but not in the same ballpark.

Phish is my favorite. However, I do believe that um harbors more technical talent than Phish. As a group their styles are different and aren't comparable. Phish did personally hand over the perverbial "torch" to um when the announced they were disbanding, as they felt um was the best band to carry on the tradition. Please do not bring wsp and Moe into the discussion with UM and Phish. They are quality bands, but cannot compete at the same level.

umphreys is a great great live band but to say there the best band out there is retarded. umplover say heatgen has no musical knowledge but you probably dont know what song structure is or what key jajunk is played in.....you also sound like a 15 year old UM kid and have probably never seen bands like wsp and phish and moe.

Actually, Brendan does not have the greatest voice. However, it rarely interferes with the composition. Not to mention he's a really good dude, so take your negativity elsewhere.

BTW - I really enjoyed Jake with the Macpodz playing Hello Jeff - very cool too.

First of all heatgen, you have 69 as part of your username so right away you lose all credibility. Secondly, his name is Brendan, and he can sing. And lastly, no one is forcing you to watch this. If you don't like them, you should probably go back to your usual Nickleback or whatever crap you listen to.

This band is so weak, Brandon cannot sing and there vocals are so lame. Jake can sing but man is his guitar playing is so over top, I mean please ,,, all arranged crap!!
