iClips.net and Myspace Music are excited to announce a special LIVE broadcast performance by Rihanna on Thursday, December 3 at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City. The concert will be streaming LIVE via Rihanna’s official MySpace Music profile at http://www.myspace.com/rihanna beginning at 6 p.m. PST/9 p.m. EST.
This installment of "THE RELEASE" will be a special performance to mark the release of Rihanna’s upcoming album titled Rated R, a performance that will mark her only appearance in celebration of the album’s availability. Over 500+ tickets will be given out for the free, all-ages show on a first-come, first-served basis at the Hammerstein Ballroom starting at 9 a.m. on December 3, or can be won through radio promotions on HOT 97. More information for ticket pickup can be found on http://blogs.myspace.com/rihanna.
Rated R contains the new singles "Russian Roulette" & "Hard" featuring Jeezy and is the long-awaited follow-up to Rihanna’s Good Girl Gone Bad (May 2007), which contained the non-stop string of hit singles that began with the MTV VMA and Grammy Award-winning global #1 hit "Umbrella" (featuring Jay-Z), then "Shut Up and Drive," "Hate That I Love You" (featuring Ne-Yo), and "Don't Stop the Music." Good Girl Gone Bad spent 98 total weeks on the Soundscan chart, earned cumulative sales of more than 36-times platinum in at least 20 territories around the world, and spun off the CD+DVD package Good Girl Gone Bad: Reloaded (January 2009) – which continued the string of hits with the #1 "Take A Bow" and the #1 "Disturbia."
Rated R was released on November 23rd and has garnered critical acclaim from The NY Times, USA Today, The Chicago Tribune, Entertainment Weekly and has 4 star reviews from People, The LA Times & Rolling Stone.
